Man Who Impregnated 11-Year-Old Is Killed by Deputies
He was shot at a Treasure Island motel. He also was a suspect in a knifepoint robbery in Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg.

Gregory Johns, wanted for sexually assaulting and impregnating an 11-year-old girl, was killed by Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputies Saturday morning at the Trails End Motel in Treasure Island, according to an article from cfnews13.com
Johns was living with the girl and her mother when they found out the child was pregnant. Johns left from Morton Plant Meese Countryside Hospital where the girl was diagnosed on August 27th.
Sheriff's Deputies got word that Johns had robbed a couple in Vinoy Park at knife point and went to 78-year-old woman's home and left her tied up for 12 hours on August 29th.

On the 29th, Johns also called up the mother and apologized for what he did and said that police would have to kill him before he returned to jail.
Johns was in and out of jail ten times since 1987.

Saturday morning, deputies received a tip that Johns was hiding out in a motel somewhere along Gulf Boulevard in Treasure Island.
They found Johns at the Trails End Motel in room 224.
After trying to get him to come out, deputies went into the room and Johns came out of the bathroom with a knife and said he was going to kill the officers.
Deputies Eric Turner and Claudio Dimundo both fired about five rounds and killed Johns.
Turner and Dimundo will both go on paid administrative leave for the period the investigation.
