More Than 40 People Homeless Following Apartment Complex Fire
Fire officials said the quick action of the security guard at the apartment complex probably saved lives.

KENNETH CITY, FL — More than 40 people are homeless Thursday after a two-alarm fire engulfed an apartment complex in Kenneth City late Wednesday night, damaging 27 apartments.
According to the Lealman Fire Control District, the fire broke out at the Ashford Bayside Apartment Homes, 5750 58th Way N, around 11 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, there was heavy smoke and flames shooting from the top of the building.

Fire officials said a security guard was the first to notice the blaze and began knocking on the residents' doors, telling them to get out of the building. Fire officials said the actions of the security guard most likely saved lives.
