Motorcyclist Killed After Losing Control On Indian Shores Road
A motorcyclist was killed Monday night after striking a guardrail on the entrance ramp to Park Boulevard Bridge in Indian Shores.
INDIAN SHORES, FL — A 49-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday night after striking a guardrail on the entrance ramp to Park Boulevard Bridge in Indian Shores.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, around 9 p.m. Ferdinando Abbondante was riding a 2013 Yamaha R6 motorcycle east on the entrance ramp when traffic slowed ahead of him. Deputies said he passed a vehicle on his left side but, when merging back into traffic, he struck a guardrail and was thrown from the motorcycle.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died, said deputies. They said they believe speed was a factor in the crash.
