Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Seminole Crash
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash involving a motorcycle that occurred at 8:14 p.m. Sunday, April 1.

SEMINOLE, FL -- Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle that occurred at 8:14 p.m. Sunday, April 1.
According to investigators, 75-year-old Ellen Smith, of 11928 Temple Court, Seminole, was driving her 2006 Chevrolet Equinox west on Park Boulevard when she attempted to turn north onto Ridge Road.
Smith made an error while making the turn and began to travel briefly in the southbound left turn lane instead of the northbound lane of Ridge Road.

A 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 47-year-old Robert Schuster, 2500 54th Avenue N #336, St Petersburg, was traveling south on Ridge Road, approaching the intersection of Park Boulevard in the left turn lane when he was struck by Smith's Equinox.
Schuster sustained serious injuries to his lower extremities. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Schuster to Bayfront Medical Center.

Neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash.
