Ohio Man Falls to His Death on St. Pete Beach

A 23-year-old Centerville, Ohio, man is dead after falling from the roof of the Sand Seair Condominiums.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 2 a.m. Saturday when Cody Conley stripped down to his boxer shorts on the building’s sixth-floor landing and tried to climb up to the roof, which is several feet up from the landing.

Cody’s brother Nicholas, 17, tried to help him, but Cody fell to the pavement below, an email from the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies and first responders arrived at the 3805 Gulf Blvd. resort and took Cody to the Palms of Pasadena Hospital, where he later died.

While there is no evidence of foul play, deputies say alcohol may be a factor in the death.

The Conleys were visiting St. Pete Beach to attend a family wedding.
