Only on the Beach: Nekton Summer Skim Camp

This camp offers kids the chance to learn how to skim board and get out of the house for an few hours.

For kids aged 5 and up, Nekton Summer Skim Camp may be the solution to a slow summer vacation. Alec Kugler and Peter Gottschling offer skim boarding lessons half a dozen times throughout the summer.

Camp runs for a week, Monday through Friday, for $150 per child. The group meets at 17th Ave in Indian Rocks at 9 a.m. and parents can pick them up at 12 p.m.

Water and gatorade is provided. Kids are encouraged to bring their own boards if they have one, but the Nekton Surf Shop has rentals they bring for the kids to use as well.

The camp has been going on for the past couple years. The last week they’ll be doing it this summer will be from August 1st through the 5th, so get your kids signed up soon. The phone number for the shop is 727-593-8292.
