Only on the Beach: The Big Bamboo

If you stop by the popular in Indian Rocks Beach, be sure to order the Big Bamboo. The custom drink is a special for the venue.

The tropical looking choice matches the vibe of the restaurant. One of the walls of the bar is opened up to the deck, and you can even hear people playing in the pool if you’re outside. If you sit at the right spot, you can have palm trees and the Intercoastal in your view.

The drink is created with light and coconut rum, with some banana liqueur, pineapple and orange juice, and Dark Creme de Cacao. Add the sugar rim, sugar cane and a pineapple chunk and you’re set. Of course, at Guana’s every custom drink comes with a small lizard on top, too.

You can get the 24 ounce glass for $8. The name comes from a reggae song with the same title that local bands sometimes play on the patio. If a beach experience could be wrapped up in a cocktail, this would be it.
