Pedestrian Dies From Injuries In Treasure Island Crash

TREASURE ISLAND, FL — A 48-year-old man has died after being struck by a car Saturday on Gulf Boulevard and 1st Street East in Treasure Island.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, at 6:42 p.m., Jude Rutkowski was crossing Gulf Boulevard from south to north outside a designated crosswalk when he was struck by a 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by 45-year-old Jamie McPherson, who was heading west.

Deputies said McPherson was not impaired at the time, however, they believe Rutkowski was impaired.

The sheriff's office said Rutkowski died on Wednesday from his injuries.
