Pinellas County Extends Local State Of Emergency Through April 17

*Commission Chair Pat Gerard extended Pinellas County’s state of local emergency another 7 days.

On Thursday, April 9, under delegated authority, Pinellas County Commission Chair Pat Gerard extended the declaration of a Local State of Emergency for another 7 days, along with the County’s previous orders pursuant to it. This includes that public beaches and beach parking areas in Pinellas County will remain closed at least through April 17.

The County Commission unanimously voted on April 2 to provide delegated authority to the chairperson or county administrator to be able to execute further extensions of the emergency resolution. See resolution 20-22 here: http://www.pinellascounty.org/emergency/PDF/covid19/res20-22.pdf

Gerard delivered a live update about the ongoing county response to COVID-19 from the Pinellas County Emergency Operations Center, on April 10. She shared recent actions by various County working groups, and information and resources for local businesses and residents.
