Pinellas Park Announces Outstanding City Employee Of The Year
Fire Lt./EMT Nathan Gilroy "rose above his normal duties" as the department's lieutenant of rescue.

PINELLAS PARK, FL — Pinellas Park city officials joined Rotarians at the Pinellas Park Rotary Club Meeting to learn who the winner of the 2021 Outstanding City Employee of the Year is... and the winner is Fire Lt./EMT Nathan Gilroy.
Earlier this year, the city recognized the winners of the 2021 Firefighter of the Year, Police Officer of the Year and the Professional Services Employee of the Year which are as follows:

Of these three awardees, Fire Lt./EMT Nathan Gilroy was the recipient of the Outstanding City Employee of the Year.
Throughout his career with the city, Gilroy rose above his normal duties as the department's lieutenant of rescue. He was instrumental in keeping crews properly equipped along with the necessary PPE. He constantly juggles multiple projects and demands while balancing mask collections for decontamination, using a new technology to ensure both the fire department's readiness along with the police, public works and general city employees.
Further recognition was awarded to the entire Public Works Department for Employee of the Year.
The department has gone above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic the keep the city functioning smoothly.
"It was a pleasure to recognize all the 2021 award recipients for their outstanding dedication to the city of Pinellas Park. I also want to congratulate Lt. Nathan Gilroy on being awarded Outstanding City Employee of the Year and for certainly going above and beyond, not only during the pandemic, but for the city over the years," said Doug Lewis, city manager of Pinellas Park.
