Pinellas Park Chooses Builder To Develop City Center

PINELLAS PARK, FL — The city of Pinellas Park has chosen a home builder to create a city center that will transform the blighted area along 75th Terrace known as the United Cottages Subdivision.

For nearly 10 years the Pinellas Park's Community Redevelopment Agency has acquired properties along 75th Terrace to redevelop into alternative, affordable housing that would reinvigorate the area and attractive cottage industries.

In 2018 the CRA issued a Request for Proposals for developers interested in building a mix of uses, including cottage-style live/work units.

After reviewing the proposals, the CRA board has selected Namaste Homes LLC to redevelop the site.

"The City of Pinellas Park is very excited about this project. Namaste Homes LLC will be building and selling 22 new residential units and five live/work units," said Laura Canary, CRA manager for the city of Pinellas Park. "The Artistry at Park Station will boast a unique architecture and feature a park for residents. This project is certainly a catalyst for the development of a city center that will be located in the heart of Pinellas Park."

"This redevelopment opportunity was just perfect for our company," said Frederic Samson with Namaste Homes, LLC. "The United Cottages Subdivision really serves our vision to create something new, exciting and affordable that compliments the artistic vibe of the area."

In July, the Pinellas Park City Council also awarded a bid for a new brick road on 75th Terrace.
