Pinellas Park Fire Department Undergoes Change In Command
Pinellas Park will say goodbye to Fire Chief Guy Keirn on Jan. 22 as he retires from the Pinellas Park Fire Department after 33 years.

PINELLAS PARK, FL - The City of Pinellas Park will say goodbye to Fire Chief Guy Keirn on Jan. 22 as he retires from the Pinellas Park Fire Department after 33 years of service.
Following Chief Keirn's departure, Deputy Chief of Operations Brett Schlatterer will be promoted to chief of the Pinellas Park Fire Department.
Keirn plans to enjoy his retirement by spending more time with his family, including his 1-year-old grandson, traveling with his wife, Susie, and doing some restorations to his Georgia farm.

Schlatterer began with the Pinellas Park Fire Department in August 1996, He was promoted to fire lieutenant in June 2005 and then to district chief of training in January 2014.
He moved to district chief of suppression on B Shift in April 2014 and was promoted to deputy chief of operations in February 2016.

Schlatterer has been a member of the Pinellas County Technical Rescue Team since 1998. He is married to wife, Tammy. and has two children,Kyle, 22, and Saje, 20.
Other promotions include Rob Angell from division chief of EMS to deputy chief of operations and Mike Elder from district chief to division chief of training.
