Police Say Clearwater Man Drove Drunk With Children In Car

A 26-year-old Clearwater man was arrested after Pinellas Park Police said he drove drunk with a 6-year-old and 7-month-old child in the car.

PINELLAS PARK, FL — A 26-year-old Clearwater man was arrested after Pinellas Park Police said he drove drunk with a 6-year-old and 7-month-old child in the car.

Pinellas Park Police responded to an accident at 94th Avenue and 52nd Street at 4:29 p.m. Sunday. The accident involved a car driven by Shawnod Brown, who had two young children in the back seat. Neither child was injured.

Police noticed signs that Brown might be impaired. He subsequently failed a field sobriety test, and two blood-alcohol tests showed blood-alcohol levels of .172 and .187. The legal limit is .08.

He was arrested and charged with DUI and child neglect.

The children were released to a family member.
