St. Pete Beach Man Accused Of Sexual Battery Of Child

A St. Pete Beach man has been arrested after being accused of sexually battering a child.

ST. PETE BEACH, FL — A St. Pete Beach man has been arrested after being accused of sexually battering a child.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, detectives began their investigation after learning a child under the age of 12 had been sexually battered between September 2019 and January while the child lived in the home of 50-year-old Alfred Mahoney of the 500 block of 71st Avenue, St. Pete Beach.

The child reported the abuse to a family member who took the child to a local hospital and contacted the sheriff's office.

Detectives arrested Mahoney at his home on Thursday. He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail where he was charged with capital sexual battery of a child less than 12.
