St. Pete Man Seriously Injured In Pinellas Park Scooter Crash

PINELLAS PARK, FL — The Pinellas Park Police are investigating an accident that seriously injured a St. Petersburg resident riding a motor scooter.

At 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Danea Coleman, 27, of St. Petersburg was turning left in her Nissan Maxima from eastbound 62nd Avenue to north on 39th Street. According to Pinellas Park Police, she violated the right of way of Jared Hernandez, 33, who was on a motor scooter.

Hernandez sustained several injuries and is listed in serious condition. A helmet was located at the scene but it's unclear if Hernandez was wearing it at the time.

Coleman was issued a citation.
