Storms Damage Buildings in Madeira Beach
Fast moving storms damaged two buildings in Madeira Beach Wednesday morning, blowing the roof off the Holiday Isles Resort and leaving about 16 people homeless.

Two buildings were damaged by storm winds on Madeira beach at about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to Pinellas County Sheriffs. Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies, Madeira Beach Fire Rescue and other local fires rescue units were called to the scene.
A squall line crossed into Madeira Beach shortly after 1:00 a.m. and caused high gusts of wind. The fast-moving storm damaged the roof of the Palms of Madeira Beach Vacation Rentals, and blew the roof off the Holiday Isles Resort on 14711 Gulf Blvd.
At the time, there were 16 occupants of Holiday Isles and 12 staying at the Palms. No injuries were reported, and the Red Cross was on the scene to help relocate victims.
