On Facebook, people are taking time out to lament the tech giant’s passing. They’re sharing stories about the impact he has had on their lives. They’re thanking the man for his vision and the cutting-edge devices he helped bring onto the market.

For me and many others, Steve Jobs was an absolute visionary. I own so many Apple products and remember working on Apple computers in elementary school. I've had multiple iPhones, ipods are strewn in a drawer for when I work out, my iMac sits on my desk and acted as my entertainment outlet for a great period of time. When I first started with Patch, I was delighted to find out that my work computer would be a Macbook.

Even beyond what he's done for technology, Jobs changed much of our cultural views. He made it big on his dreams and ideals. He made the computer accessible to everybody and made it fit stylishly in the home. Remember the old beige box towers? If not for the visions of Steve Jobs, those might have remained the standard. He was a computer nerd and proud of it. On a personal level, Steve Jobs made me proud to be who I was.

What is your reaction to the death of Steve Jobs? How many Apple products do you own? Tell us in the comments.
