Tourist Tips for the Beach

Tips from the St. Pete Beach Police Department for tourists on vacation.

When vacationing on the beach, it’s easy to just let yourself forget about all your cares and worries and just soak in the sun. The St. Pete Beach Police Department has put out a list of things to keep in mind while relaxing on the beaches.

  1. Keep all your important documents in a safe place. There’s nothing worse than losing all your personal information, especially when you’re away from home!
  2. If possible, use credit and debit cards more so than cash. Flashing around a lot of money is a good way to make yourself a target.
  3. At the hotel, do a quick run to make sure you know where all the emergency exits are located.
  4. Walk with a purpose when out and about, even if you aren’t sure where you’re heading. This will help you fit in with the crowd make yourself look like a resident of the beaches.
  5. Beware of people posing as tour guides. It’s better to talk to your hotel concierge if you’re looking for someone to give you a guided tour of the beaches.
