Weekend on the Beach: Labor Day Weekend

1. Geckofest is going on this Saturday in Gulfport. Although it's not exactly on the beaches, it's definitely close enough to check out. With lots of vendors, music and fun, the downtown area of Gulfport will jam packed with people. The event starts at 10 a.m. and goes to 10 p.m.

2. The Tradewinds Island Grand will be having their annual Labor Day party on Sunday. There'll be games, music, drinks and food available. Also, this is a great place to hang out and watch the fireworks at night. Call (727) 363-2258 to reserve a spot and a ticket.

3. Sheperds Tiki Bar in Clearwater will be having an Old Skool Labor Day party all weekend. Starting at 8 p.m. every night, head and dance to the best of the retro music and get cheap drinks on special.

4. The 97 X radio station will be at the Postcard Inn for the Pacifico Labor Day weekend on Saturday. The event will have Pacifico on draft for the first time in North America. There'll also be lots music and fun. If you show up between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., you can get a free paddleboarding lesson. The event starts officially at 2 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m.

5. The next day at the Postcard Inn, Bud Light Lime will be putting on a volleyball tournament. There'll be intense beach volleyball going on all afternoon and 2 for $5 Bud Light Limes to help cool off from the sun.
