On Friday June 10th, the Suntan Art Center held an opening reception for their first year Big Gay Art Show event. Local artist, John Kohlburn, a member of the Suntan Board kicked off the pride show event, which partnered with St. Pete Pride. The art exhibit featured 13 local visual artists,

One of the Center's more popular activities is its Photo Club, saidProgram Director Carrie Sorenson.Meeting once a month, the Club outfits all of its junior Ansel Adamses with disposable cameras and sets them loose on Madeira Beach to see what art they can capture.
