What Tips Would You Give for Those in Sandy's Path?

Hurricane Sandy looks like it's certain to hit the northeast coast, and hit it hard.

Here in Florida, and especially on the beaches, we live with the near constant threat of hurricanes during the storm season. It seems that every other major storm is on a projected path to hit the beaches.
