Woman Charged With DUI Manslaughter After Death Of Pedestrian
A 54-year-old woman has been charged with DUI manslaughter after being accused of fatally hitting a 70-year-old pedestrian with her car.
PINELLAS COUNTY — A 54-year-old woman has been charged with DUI manslaughter after being accused of fatally hitting a 70-year-old pedestrian with her car.
At 12:49 a.m. Thursday, Francine Mashtare was driving west on Park Boulevard approaching Starkey Road in a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro. Thomas Rothwell was crossing Park Boulevard in the area of a designated crosswalk when police said Mashtare struck Rothwell with the front driver's side of her car.
Rothwell was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mashtare showed indications of being impaired and was arrested and taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
