While inside the apartment, officers were overwhelmed by the chemical odor and contacted the Pinellas Park Fire Department's hazardous materials team.

The apartment building was evacuated while firefighters ventilated the building. In the process, a police officer and a firefighter were overwhelmed after inhaling the unknown chemical and were taken to the hospital. They've since been released.

The investigation led detectives to Keyuhn Chambers, 41, the husband of Chrystal Williams. The couple lives in the apartment. The baby belonged to Williams' friend.

Chambers fled the scene before police arrived, but was found and taken into custody by police.

After interviewing Chambers, detectives charged him with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Detectives are still investigating the circumstances that led to Williams' death.

The hazardous materials team allowed residents back into the apartment complex after determining there was no longer a safety concern.
