2 Women Killed In 3-Car Crash At Hillsborough County Intersection

The crash occurred Friday at North Turkey Creek Road and State Road 60, police said in a statement.

PLANT CITY, FL — Two women were killed and two other drivers were injured in a three-car crash at a Plant City intersection on Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred about 12:50 p.m. at North Turkey Creek Road and State Road 60, police said in a statement.

According to investigators, a Chevrolet Cobalt traveling north on North Turkey Creek Road entered the intersection against a red light and into the path of an eastbound Dodge Journey on State Road 60.

The Dodge collided with the Chevrolet, sending it into a shed at the northeast corner of the intersection. The Dodge then continued northeast and struck a Kia K5 that was stopped in a left-turn lane on State Road 60.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 59-year-old Plant City woman, and her passenger, a 59-year-old Dover woman, died at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge, a 71-year-old Sebring woman, and the driver of the Kia, a 20-year-old Plant City woman, suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
