• 27 Arrested As Multi-Agency DUI Crackdown In Hillsborough County (tampafp.com) — Plant City drivers were among those targeted in a Labor Day weekend DUI crackdown that brought together the Plant City Police Department, Hillsborough deputies, Tampa police, and USF officers. The operation led to 27 DUI arrests, more than 200 traffic stops, and additional vessel checks on local waterways, underscoring law enforcement's ongoing focus on impaired driving in and around Plant City.
• 10 Florida trucking schools ordered to cease operations after failing to meet English requirements: officials (snntv.com) — A Plant City trucking school, A1 CDL LLC, is among ten Florida CDL training programs ordered to stop operating after federal regulators found repeated failures to meet English proficiency standards. The schools must halt new enrollments, identify affected students, and issue refunds where needed, while they work toward possible federal reinstatement.
• Tampa Bay Law Enforcement Heroes Honored At Annual Gala (ospreyobserver.com) — Plant City is represented at a major Tampa Bay law enforcement gala through Assistant Chief Justin Moody, whose wife, U.S. Senator Ashley Moody, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her support of public safety. The event also honored officers and units from across the region for rescues, child exploitation investigations, crisis negotiations, and efforts to reduce gun violence, backed by substantial foundation donations for training and scholarships.
