2. Plant City church offers bathing, toiletries with help of Tampa-based ShowerUp (plantcityobserver.com) — A downtown Plant City church is now offering free monthly showers, toiletries, and clothing for homeless and struggling neighbors, partnering with Tampa-based nonprofit ShowerUp. Mount Olive Baptist Church hosts the portable shower service every fourth Tuesday morning, while continuing to collect donated towels, toiletries, and gently used clothes so more local residents in need can access basic hygiene and support.
3. Cops Corner 10.01.26 (plantcityobserver.com) — A week's worth of Plant City police calls shows everything from stolen cars and traffic-sign batteries to locker burglaries, fence damage, and a crash where the driver fled. Officers also handled fights, a firearm-brandishing incident, marijuana possession, and several arrests along familiar corridors like James L Redman Parkway, Collins Street, and Turkey Creek Road.
4. The Ultimate Guide to Halloween in Orlando 2026 (orlandomagazine.com) — Plant City horror fans get a shout-out in this Orlando-focused Halloween guide, which spotlights Sir Henry's Haunted Trail as one of Florida's top independent haunts. Running select nights from Sept. 25 to Nov. 1, it features multiple haunted trails, a hayride, games, food, and roaming scare actors, with advance tickets starting at $27.
