Bi-Annual Plant City Fishing Derby Set For Jan. 23
Registration ends Jan. 21 for the free event.

The City of Plant City Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce our 24th Bi-annual Fishing Derby event! Open to all boys and girls ages 5-15. The program date is January 23rd, 2021. The Derby location will be 1500 South Park Road.

From South Park Road, turn onto Gordon Food Service Drive (formerly Albertson Drive), just behind the Randy L. Larson Softball Four-Plex. Pre-registration is preferred during the 3 weeks prior to the Derby, ending on Thursday, January 21st.
You can also register on site (at the Derby location only) the morning of the Derby from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. Click here for the online registration form which will be available during the 3 weeks prior to the Derby. The competition is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Awards in several categories will be handed out at 10:45 a.m.
Anglers must be accompanied by an adult. Bring your own pole and bait - any kind of pole and bait is acceptable - and also bring a 5-gallon bucket to keep your fish alive and to make transport to the weigh station easier! Event is free, thanks to our sponsors!
This is a catch and release event. There are at least 9 species in the pond include bass, catfish, mudfish, speckled perch, blue gill and others. For more information, contact our office by email at recinfo@plantcitygov.com or call us at 813-659-4255.
