Fire Sweeps Through Building At Plant City Fish Farm

PLANT CITY, FL — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue battled an overnight fire at a fish farm at 6507 Bob Head Road in Plant City.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue received a 911 call reporting heavy flames and smoke coming from one of the buildings at the fish farm at 2:09 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews quickly deployed hand lines and an aerial master stream to keep the blaze in check. Water was supplied through shuttle operations using water tankers.

Firefighters are currently working to put out hot spots.

There were no occupants inside the building at the time of the fire. Hillsborough County's fire investigations unit is on the scene investigating the cause.

There was one firefighter transported from the scene with a minor injury.
