FL Driver With Fake Missiles In Truck Bed Prompts Bomb Squad Call
A FL man with fake missiles mounted on the bed of his truck was pulled over after being spotted driving on I-4, troopers said.

PLANT CITY, FL — A Florida driver with fake missiles mounted on his truck prompted a bomb squad response after being spotted driving on Interstate 4 Sunday afternoon.
The Florida Highway Patrol received multiple calls from other drivers about the driver “aka Rocket Man,” the agency wrote in a social media post.
Troopers pulled him over on State Road 39 near Plant City.

The driver, Michael Nipper, told troopers that the two missiles, sitting on a metal rack in the bed of his pick-up truck, were props purchased as a kit online, WESH reported. He assured them that they were made of plastic and didn’t contain any explosive materials.
The bomb squad was called to the scene anyway as a precaution, reports said.

“Later determined to be plastic devices used for show and events, all was determined safe with a strong suggestion on how better to transport the articles,” troopers wrote in their post.
