Plant City Business Owner Dead, 2 Injured In Shooting

PLANT CITY, FL – Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are still on the scene of a shooting in unincorporated Plant City in which one person was killed and two people were injured.

The sheriff’s office said the shooting occurred around 4 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Bliss Enterprises of Plant City, 3940 Knights Griffin Road E.

Deputies say the owner, Richard Bliss, 49, got into an argument with two other man. At some point, he reportedly took out a gun and shot them.

Another person who was outside the office at the time went into the business and shot Bliss.

Bliss was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two men were taken to the hospital. One is in stable condition. The other is critical. They have not been identified. The man who shot Bliss is still being questioned.

Sheriff’s Col. Donna Lusczynski said the shooting was over an ongoing dispute about living on the property.
