Plant City Man Dies In Crash On I-4 With Tractor-Trailer Truck

SEFFNER, FL -- A 45-year-old Plant City man has died following an accident on Interstate 4 near County Road 579.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 2:58 a.m. Thursday, Pedro Leonardo Diaz, 53, of Cape Coral was driving a semi-tractor-trailer truck east on I-4 when it overheated and Diaz pulled to the shoulder to make repairs.

After completing the repairs, Diaz entered the outside lane of I-4 and a Geo Tracker driven by Erik Adam Walton of Plant City struck the rear of the truck's trailer.

Walton died at the scene.
