Plant City Police Find SUV Involved In Hit-And-Run Fatality
Police have located an SUV they believe was involved in the hit-and-run accident on U.S.92 in Plant City that killed a man Thursday night.

PLANT CITY, FL -- Police have located an SUV they believe was involved in the hit-and-run accident on U.S.92 in Plant City that killed a man Thursday night.
On Jan. 17, around 7:30 p.m., Plant City Police responded to a call about a person who was possibly dead lying on the side of U.S. 92 U.S. approximately 1,000 feet west of Charlie Taylor Road. Upon arrival, police found a Hispanic man in his mid-40s to mid-50s who was killed after being struck by a vehicle.
Based on a witness description and evidence left at the scene, police determined the vehicle involved to be a silver or light green small SUV with moderate to heavy damage to the drive's side front and the front bumper partially detached and hanging off.

On Friday, the Lakeland Police Department received a call about a suspicious vehicle in a wooded area south of a mobile home park in Lakeland. Plant City Police officers met with Lakeland officers who led them to a black 2005-07 Hyundai Tuscon with heavy left front-end damage consistent with evidence gathered at the crash scene.
The vehicle was impounded and transported to the Plant City Police Department for further inspection. The identifies of the victim and the driver are still unknown.
