Registration For PCPRD/Optimist Youth Basketball Program

The PCPRD/Optimist Youth Basketball Program is currently registering players for its 52nd season of play. All area youths in six age groups (co-ed 8-9, boys 10-11, girls 10-12, boys 12-13, girls 13-15 and boys 14-16) are eligible to participate – age is determined as of 3/1/20 (birth certificate required). Around 180 youths participated on 18 teams last season, playing games at the Sadye Gibbs Martin Community Center gym or at the Tomlin Middle School gym. The season is played from early January through the end of February, with games mostly on weeknights for all age groups and possibly Saturday mornings for the co-ed 8-9 year olds. The registration fee of $35 covers all expenses, including jersey and supplemental accident insurance.

Registrations will be accepted through Wednesday, November 18 at 4:30 pm by mail or at the Recreation & Parks Department administrative office, 1904 South Park Road (813-659-4255). We will also be looking for a few coaches and referees for all age groups! A registration form and more info are both available by e-mail at recinfo@plantcitygov.com or just call us at 813-659-4255.
