Plant City police say a woman was struck and killed by an Amtrak train around 5 p.m. Friday while trying to cross the railroad tracks.

PLANT CITY, FL — Plant City police say a woman was struck and killed by an Amtrak train around 5 p.m. Friday while trying to cross the railroad tracks in Plant City.

The woman was struck while trying to cross the tracks on Maryland Avenue just south of Baker Street.

Maryland Avenue was closed from Baker Street to Church Street due to the accident.
