While the district still considers the original stop appropriate, the change shows how parent complaints can quickly influence transportation decisions affecting local children's daily commute.
   

2. Florida man jailed after body, drugs found in apartment (tcpalm.com) — Port St. Lucie police arrested a local man after finding drugs, cash, and guns while investigating a suspected overdose death at a nearby apartment complex off Becker Road. Officers say phone messages tied the victim to the suspect, leading to a sting that uncovered fentanyl, cocaine, and firearms at his home on Southwest Longfellow Road.
   

3. Florida Amazon employees find new jobs as hundreds navigate layoffs (tcpalm.com) — Hundreds of Port St. Lucie Amazon warehouse workers are navigating layoffs this week, but at least 39 have already landed new jobs with Treasure Coast employers and many others transferred to different Amazon sites. About 300 locals will still be out of work for now, though the Midway Road facility is slated to reopen in 2028 after a $200 million expansion that should add over 1,000 jobs.
   

4.
