10-Foot Gator Takes Easter Sunday Stroll In Venice: Sarasota Sheriff
The large gator slowly made its way through a Venice neighborhood to Harrington Lake, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said.
VENICE, FL — A large gator about 10 feet long took a leisurely stroll through a Venice neighborhood on Easter Sunday.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office shared a video of the gator making its way to Harrington Lake. (Watch the video below.)
“We’re not sure if the Easter bunny made its way to (the lake) after coming across this bad boy,” the agency wrote on its Facebook page.

The sheriff’s office added, “We’re guessing he was about 10 feet in length and boy, did he take his time making it back to the lake he came from. We can’t blame him just thinking about how heavy that tail must be.”

SCSO alerted the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission about the gator, but the agency didn’t respond.
“For that reason, it’s safe to assume he’s still swimming in this lake,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
