Michael Jordan’s Sarasota Members-Only Club Already Expanding
NBA star Michael Jordan is opening a second Florida location of his exclusive members-only club, 1000 North, in Sarasota this fall, and is already looking at an expansion, even before it opens its doors, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune said.
The waterfront restaurant and private club, with a flagship location across the state in Jupiter, costs $10,000 to join as a member in the first year - a $5,000 initiation fee and a $5,000 annual fee - and $5,000 a year after that, Sarasota Magazine reported.
The Sarasota location is expected to open in October, taking over about 13,000 square feet at the BLVD building at 520 N. Tamiami Trail.
1000 North has also recently closed on a nearby property at 1290 Boulevard of the Arts, adding another 10,500 square feet to the project, chief operating officer Alex Elshimy told the Herald-Tribune.

The fast-food stalwart has filed an application with Manatee County Development Services to open a proposed restaurant at 12303 U.S. 301 N. in Parrish, the Bradenton Herald said.
The eatery would be part of the planned Parrish Town Center, near the intersection of U.S. 301 and State Road 63.
Sarasota Restaurant Recognized for Burger
A Sarasota restaurant was recognized for serving one of the “best burgers in America [that] are worth the trip,” according to USA Today.
Alpine Steakhouse at 4520 S. Tamiami Trail, which appeared on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” serves a Signature Steakhouse Burger that “is beloved by locals,” according to its listing.
“A massive half-pound patty stacked with house-made jowl bacon, a crispy onion ring, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo, it’s a magnificent two-hander worthy of a road trip. Especially when paired with this awesomely casual — and moderately priced — steakhouse’s standout sides, with personal favorites including the twice-baked potato, truffle fries, and German potato salad,” according to USA Today.
