$1M Prize Claimed By Illinois Woman: Florida Lottery
An Illinois woman visiting the Sarasota area claimed a $1 million prize while playing a scratch-off game, Florida Lottery said.
SARASOTA, FL — An Illinois woman visiting Florida claimed a $1 million prize while playing the Florida 300X The Cash scratch-off game, according to a Florida Lottery news release.
Maree Beavers, 62, of Elgin, Illinois, chose to receive her winnings in annual installments over 25 years. She claimed her prize at the Florida Lottery’s district office in Tampa.
Beavers bought her winning ticket from Publix at 5100 Clark Road in Sarasota. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the ticket.

Florida 300X the Cash, a $30 game, launched in September and features more than $1 billion in cash prizes, including four top prizes of $15 million. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.93.
