$2 Million Florida Lottery Prize Claimed By Sarasota Man

A 63-year-old Sarasota man won the first top prize after playing the $2,000,000 50X CASHWORD scratch-off game.

SARASOTA, FL — A 63-year-old Sarasota man claimed the first $2 million top prize after playing the $2,000,000 50X CASHWORD scratch-off game, Florida Lottery said in a news release.

Mario DiCiesare chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1.76 million. He claimed his winnings at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

He purchased his winning ticket from Circle K at 77 South Tuttle Ave. in Sarasota. The retailer will receive a $4,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

$2,000,000 50X CASHWORD, a $10 game, launched in December 2020 and features more than $229 million in cash prizes, including eight top prizes of $2 million. The game's overall odds are 1-in-3.37.
