2 Sarasota County Schools Evacuated After Bomb Threats: District

Two Sarasota County schools are being evacuated Wednesday morning after receiving bomb threats, the district said.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — Two local schools are being evacuated "out of an abundance of caution" after bomb threats were phoned into the schools Wednesday morning, Sarasota County Schools tweeted just before 11 a.m.

Venice High School in Venice and Booker Middle School in Sarasota both received threats, the district said.

Sarasota County Schools Police Department and local law enforcement partners are investigating the threats.

The threats come a day after Brookside Middle School, Sarasota High School and Riverview High School, all in Sarasota, were evacuated or locked down Tuesday following threats to the schools, the district said.
