2 Sarasota Store Clerks Caught Selling Alcohol to Minors

Both have been given notices to appear in court.

Two local store clerks are in hot water after the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office caught them selling alcohol to minors.

The agency conducted an undercover operation to crackdown on underage alcohol sales on Thursday night. The clerks, who were not identified by deputies, worked for:

  • Chevron, 6895 S. Tamiami Trail
  • CVS, 2811 Clark Road

Both have been given notices to appear in courtĀ on misdemeanor charges of selling alcohol to minors, the sheriff’s office noted in an email to media.

While two businesses were found in violation during Thursday’s Juvenile Alcohol Task Force operation, 29 stores in Sarasota passed the inspection with flying colors, the sheriff’s office noted.

They ā€œwill be sent a letter to commend owners and employees for helping to reduce the sale of alcohol to minors.ā€
