2 Women Dead In Murder-Suicide At Sarasota Veterinary Hospital: Report
A former employee at KindVet of Sarasota Urgent Care shot, killed herself, a coworker, reports said.
SARASOTA, FL — Two women are dead in an apparent murder-suicide at a Sarasota veterinarian’s office, according to multiple reports.
Law enforcement received reports of shots fired at KindVet of Sarasota Urgent Care in the 3900 block of Clark Road Wednesday around 5:11 p.m., Evan Keats, public information officer for the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, told ABC Action News.
The shooter is thought to be a former KindVet employee, reports said.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, while the victim was brought to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where she later died, according to an SCSO news release.
After the shooting, the sheriff’s office learned about a social media post potentially connected to the incident, the agency said.

A former employee made a now-deleted post to the veterinary office’s Facebook page on Friday just before 6 p.m. claiming she had been bullied by the business’ management while working there, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported. In the post, she wrote that the office's owners “forced this event to happen.”
Gale Hanscom told Fox 13 that her daughter, who works at the vet’s office, texted her while hiding in a closet during the shootinghiding in a closet during the shooting.
She said her daughter heard the former employee arguing with a doctor and firing six shots. Her daughter eventually called 911.
