Community Update

Spring is known as kitten season and the Humane Society of Sarasota County has seen a dramatic increase in its cat population residing at the shelter. To make room for the countless homeless kittens that will enter its shelter, HSSC is reducing the adoption fees for all its adult cats. All May cat adoption fees will be cut in half and will be as low as $22.50.  To view cats available for adoption, please visit http://www.hssc.org/adoption/adopt-a-cat/.

The adoption fee includes a comprehensive medical exam, vaccinations, spay or neutering, deworming and micro-chipping.

The Humane Society of Sarasota County is the area’s largest no-kill shelter and relies solely on private donations, bequests and community support to continue its mission to provide abandoned pets with compassionate care and shelter while promoting responsible pet ownership and securing permanent homes.
