$26M Siesta Key Estate Sale Sets Record, Realtors Say

SARASOTA, FL — A newly built estate on Siesta Key has sold for $26 million, setting a record for the island and becoming the second-highest residential sale in Sarasota County history, according to Stellar MLS records, Michael Saunders & Company said in a news release.

The sale of the Gulf-front property at 3990 Higel Avenue was handled by Michael Saunders agent Angela Adams, who represented the buyers.

The California-based buyers, owners of Catilize Health, had been searching for a waterfront home in Sarasota County for several months. They were introduced to Adams through a referral from a previous customer and initially were looking at homes priced at roughly one-third of what they ultimately paid, the news release said.

Adams said that her longstanding relationships in the Sarasota real estate community helped connect the buyers with the Higel Avenue property.

She knew the sellers and had visited the property when it was still an undeveloped lot. She also followed the home's construction, which took more than three years.

While showing the buyers other properties on Siesta Key, Adams pointed out the estate and explained its history. When they eventually toured the home, it was the first property both buyers agreed met everything they were looking for.

“After seeing many homes, there was always something that caused hesitation from one of the buyers,” Adams said in a statement. “The moment they walked into this one, they both knew.”

The approximately one-acre property features 13,035 square feet of living space and combines direct Gulf frontage with deeded access to the bay and a private 20,000-pound boat lift.

Designed by DSDG Architects and built by Nutter Construction, the fully furnished estate includes an infinity-edge pool, detached guesthouse, wine room, home theater and extensive indoor and outdoor entertaining areas. The interiors were designed by Angela Rodriguez Interiors.

“It offered the views, design, outdoor living, and spaces for entertaining they had been searching for, while still feeling comfortable and welcoming,” Adams said.

The purchase also marks a business move for the buyers, as Catilize Health is opening an office in Sarasota and relocating part of its business to the area.

Michael Saunders & Company's commercial division assisted with that move, with agent Lee DeLieto helping the company secure local office space.

The $26 million sale comes less than two weeks after another major Siesta Key transaction: the $21.95 million sale of Crystal Waters, an estate at 8501 Midnight Pass Road.

Michael Saunders & Company represented the seller in that transaction. Agents Kim Ogilvie and Lynn Morris of the Kim Ogilvie Group secured a contract on the property in 49 days after it had spent more than a year on the market with another brokerage.

The two transactions are among five residential sales in Sarasota County recorded in Stellar MLS for more than $20 million, the news release said. Michael Saunders & Company agents participated in four of those transactions, representing either the buyer or seller.

The $26 million Higel Avenue sale now stands as the highest-priced residential transaction on Siesta Key and the second-highest residential sale recorded in Sarasota County.
