He was ultimately convicted of lewd and lascivious battery on a child and of witness tampering, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported. At the time of the attack, Lacy was already a designated sex offender, who failed to register his address with authorities.
Following the attack, Lacy told the teen to stay quiet, WFTV reported. The girl complied for a few days, but ultimately told her mother.

When Lacy was confronted by the girl’s family, he offered them $10,000 to not tell police, the Herald-Tribune reported.
Lacy has a lengthy history as a sex offender and was ultimately sentenced as a habitual felony offender and prison release reoffender, the paper noted. He will now be designated as a sexual predator by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. That agency maintains a searchable database of offenders and predators throughout the state, which can be accessed online.
