43rd Arrest for Sarasota Man

He was brought back into custody on drug-related charges.

A 34-year-old Sarasota man is behind bars for the 43rd time, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

This time, deputies say, they served a search warrant at Leonard Scott’s 4213 Groveland Ave. home Wednesday and found more than 33 grams of rock cocaine, 50 Dilaudid pills, .3 grams of heroin and nearly $1,300 in cash. The search warrant was obtained after undercover detectives made multiple drug buys from Scott’s home, the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.

Scott now faces cocaine trafficking, possession of heroin with intent to sell and violation of probation charges. He was being held in the Sarasota County Jail without bond Thursday morning. Previous arrests include indecent exposure, drug possession, assault and other charges.
