7 FL Hospitals Ranked In Top 1% Nationally In New Report

Seven hospitals in Florida are ranked among the top 1 percent of clinical care facilities in the country, according to a new report Tuesday.

The 2026 America’s Best Hospitals awards from Healthgrades, an online resource to help people find doctors and hospitals, is a three-tiered ranking of the top 50, 100 and 250 hospitals, which, respectively, represent the top 1 percent, 2 percent and 5 percent of clinical care hospitals nationwide.

In Florida, medical centers named to America’s 50 Best Hospitals are:

1. Mayo Clinic, No. 72, Jacksonville, 13 years on list
2. AdventHealth, No. 83, Orlando, nine years on list
3. Cape Coral Hospital, No. 87, Cape Coral, nine years on list
4. Naples Community Hospital, No. 92, Naples, nine years on list
5. Lee Memorial Hospital, No. 94, Fort Myers, nine years on list
6. HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, No. 96, Miami, eight years on list
7. Gulf Coast Medical Center, No. 98, Fort Myers, eight years on list

Florida hospitals ranked in the top 100 are:

1. HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital, No. 113, Orange Park, seven years on list
2. Mount Sinai Medical Center, No. 116, Miami Beach, seven years on list
3. HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, No. 119, Aventura, six years on list
4. HCA Florida Largo Hospital, tied for No. 138, Largo, five years on list

If all hospitals performed similarly to America’s 250 Best Hospitals, 211,370 lives could have been saved, Healthgrades said in a news release.

Nearly two-thirds of consumers say they’re more likely to choose a hospital with a quality award than without, highlighting the growing importance of access to objective hospital quality data, Healthgrades said. To determine the top 250 U.S. hospitals, Healthgrades evaluated clinical performance for approximately 4,500 hospitals across more than 30 common procedures and conditions.

“Patients are taking a more active role in their care than ever before, but real empowerment comes from having choices and access to information they can trust,” Healthgrades medical adviser Alana Biggers said in the news release. "This year’s America’s Best Hospitals list gives patients a clearer picture of where high-quality care is delivered most consistently, helping them understand their options and feel confident in choosing the care that's right for them.”
