80-Year-Old Falls In Pool, Dies In Sarasota: Sheriff’s Office

SARASOTA, FL — An 80-year-old man died overnight Friday after falling into the pool at his Sarasota home, authorities said.

His wife found his body in the pool at their home, located in the 1700 block of Peregrine Point Drive, Saturday around 9 a.m., a spokesperson for the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said.

It’s unknown whether the man had a medical issue that may have caused him to fall into the pool, SCSO said.

The medical examiner’s office will determine the official cause of death.
