AFP’s Southwest Florida Chapter to Hold Annual National Philanthropy Day Event on November 4
Submissions for honorees are due October 13

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Southwest Florida Chapter will hold its 41st Annual National Philanthropy Day event on November 4, 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., at Michael’s On East, 1212 East Avenue South in Sarasota. The keynote speaker is Laura Fredricks, JD, author, coach, and fundraising expert known for making the toughest and biggest asks. Honoree submissions for National Philanthropy Day are due October 13. National Philanthropy Day honorees include volunteers, individuals, couples, corporations, or foundations. A 90-word paragraph along with a high-resolution image of the honoree should be submitted by October 13 to kim.afpswfl@gmail.com.
The keynote speaker for this luncheon is “the ask expert,” Laura Fredricks, JD. Fredricks trains and coaches individuals, businesses, and nonprofits; has raised more than $1 billion for her clients; and comes from successful careers in industries known for making the toughest and biggest asks. Fredricks’ most recent book, “Hard Asks Made Easy: How to Get Exactly What You Want,” went to number one on Amazon in the business mentoring and coaching category. Before her consulting career, Fredricks was the assistant vice president at Temple University, Philadelphia; and then the vice president of philanthropy at Pace University, NY overseeing a staff of 45 during a $100 million campaign immediately following 9/11. She has been an AFP member for over 30 years and is the recipient of the Ralph E. Chamberlain Award for extraordinary leadership in the field of fundraising and lifetime of service to the profession.
