Mother-Daughter Team Opening New Coffee Shop In Manatee County

A new coffee shop and breakfast café in Palmetto, owned by a local mother-and-daughter team, is celebrating its grand opening Tuesday.

The Daily Brew Station, 551 17th Street W., aims to serve high-quality coffee and fresh, locally inspired breakfast options in a welcoming setting, the owners said.

The menu offers specialty coffees, espresso drinks, and teas, along with breakfast items, including pastries, mini pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, and biscuits with gravy.

Popular Soft-Serve Ice Cream Brand Opening Sarasota Location

Popular soft-serve ice cream franchise Carvel has a new Florida location coming soon.

The brand will open an ice cream shop at 8382 South Tamiami Trail in Pelican Plaza, according to Carvel’s website.

The location passed its restaurant inspection and is expected to open in the coming days, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported.

The shop will offer soft and scooped ice cream, a range of toppings, shakes, Sundae Dashers, take-home treats and ice cream cakes, all made fresh, the website said.

This is the first of four Sarasota locations that Carvel franchisee Bobby Enrico plans to open over the next four years, the Herald-Tribune said.

Saucy! by KFC Opening Bradenton Location

Two new Saucy! by KFC locations are opening in the Tampa Bay area next week, including one in Bradenton.

The location at 5484 Lena Road opened on Monday.

The growth reflects continued expansion in Tampa Bay, which the brand identified as one of its fastest-growing Florida markets, the company said.

The Saucy! by KFC concept centers on chicken tenders and a wide range of sauces, with customers able to customize meals in different ways.

Vinyl Cafe, Vietnamese Coffee Shop Opens in Bradenton

Spinning Cafe, a vinyl cafe and Vietnamese coffee shop, has opened in Bradenton at 515 36th Street W. E.

The chop is owned by Vincent Truyen and Mohd Hasan, who are best friends and neighbors that share a love of coffee and music.

“We don’t really care if we make money or not,” Truyen told the Bradenton Herald. “We make enough money. ... I love coffee. He loves coffee and he always want to have a small coffee shop as a hobby. So we come up with an idea and make (a) coffee shop together.”

Sarasota Restaurateur Dies At 34

A Sarasota restaurateur died not long after opening a new restaurant.

Samuel Rey, co-owner of Tsunami Sushi & Hibachi Grill in Lakewood Ranch and the location that previously called downtown Sarasota home, as well as the newly opened Hanami Sushi Cocktails & Grill in the Rosemary District, was 34 when he died, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune said.
